• Edellä mainituista syistä johtuen naiset saattavat hyötyä suhteellisesti miehiä enemmän tupakkariippuvuuden hoitomuodoista, jotka kohdistuvat näihin esteisiin. Erityisesti naisiin liittyvien tekijöiden huomioimista on tutkittu vähän.
• Naiset, jotka suunnittelevat raskautta, voivat olla erityisen vastaanottavaisia tupakoinnin lopettamisohjelmille.
