Paikan onnistuminen (success) tarkoittaa sitä, että hampaaseen ei ole kohdistunut lainkaan korjaavia toimenpiteitä seurannan aikana. Paikan kestävyys (survival) sisältää myös hampaaseen kohdistuneet korjaukset ja juurihoidot.
